The piece is entirely hand quilted with embroidery threads that have been dyed with the same natural materials. The quilt back is pieced from assorted hand dyed and hand painted scraps. Machine pieced and hand bound.

The Horizon Quilt is made of 100% cotton and cotton linen. Inspired by the dramatic sunsets of Rhode Island's Sakonnet area, the colors are achieved by hand dyeing in natural indigo and madder root.
The piece is entirely hand quilted with the traditional quilt tie technique. The quilt back consists of a hand appliquéd sun/moon form. The yellow of the appliqué was achieved by dyeing with onion skins sourced from a local organic vegetable farm. Machine pieced and bound.

The Rising Sap Quilt is made of 100% cotton. A flying geese pattern, it is inspired by the energy shift of New England seasons. It is a representation of the feelings of elation and anxiety that conflict as winter transitions to spring.
Solid color blues, reds and pinks are derived from indigo, madder root, and cochineal. Printed fabrics are created from batik wax resist in indigo. The piece is entirely hand quilted with white sashiko thread. Machine pieced and hand bound.

Inspired by a wildflower meadow that serves as a source of natural dye material, this quilt is an abstraction of the meadow landscape and the rich haze of pollen. In addition to pieces of recycled pinstripe linen, all colors are achieved by hand dyeing in locally foraged dye materials, such as tansy, rose hips, beach plums, and onion skins, as well as tea.
The piece is entirely hand quilted with over 10,000 stiches of tea-dyed embroidery floss. The quilt back is pieced with selected colors from the front as well as a large field of indigo dyed cotton. Machine pieced and hand bound.
